4 Easy Ways to Proactively Support Your Health

The winter time can be challenging for us to stay healthy. And, with the start of the new year, now is the optimal time to reassess your health and make the necessary changes for health and vitality. There are so many distractions to keep us busyand the cold temperatures only add to the distress. This is an important season of the year to stay in tip-top shape. Winter is a great time to start on your path to health — and it is a lot easier than you think. You can do so by incorporating these simple actions into your daily life. You’ll feel better and empoweredknowing you are making big strides in taking care of yourself and your family.  Follow these tipsand you can continue to get more out of life during the cold, dark months of winter.

My throat can feel quite dry in the winter and become irritated. The common cold can also make your throat feel painful, inflamed, and sore. I always carry cough drops in my purse and store some in my medicine cabinet because it is a fast way to soothe my achy and uncomfortable throat. Vicks VapoCool Drops is a small medicated tablet that dissolves slowly in your mouth to lubricate your sore throat and temporarily stop your coughs. The cooling relief to your throat feels soothed from the powerful rush of Vicks Vapors. If you have sore throat painVicks will vaporize it.

I believe that your health starts in your gut. When your digestive system is running properly, then so will you! When you have poor gut healththe effects are absolutely undesirable and a solution can’t come soon enough. Using psyllium powder causes movement in the intestineswhich gets things moving quite nicely. Psyllium is type of bulk-forming laxativeand Metamucil is the only leading brand that contains 100% naturally sourced psyllium fiber that helps promote digestive health and regularity. Metamucil traps and gets rid of the waste that weighs you down so you feel lighter and less sluggish. It is made with no artificial sweeteners and colors. And, another added bonus  the natural psyllium in Metamucil helps curb your appetite!

Another tip in keeping your gut happy and healthy is using prebioticand probiotics. A prebiotic encourages the growth of healthy microorganisms in your gastrointestinal tract such as bacteria and fungi. Probiotics are live microorganisms that help to improve and restore gut bacteria. It is a delicate balance to maintain a happy gutand this is why it is important to find a dietary supplement to assist you. Align Dualbiotic Gummy fosters a healthy gut with great tasting and easy to chew gummies. It contains both the prebiotic and probiotic bacteria. The prebiotic fiber of inulin helps to support good bacteria in your digestive system. Align Dualbiotic Gummy is naturally flavored and containless than 1 gram of sugar per gummy.

Keeping your hands clean is the best defense in keeping colds at bay. With three children in my house, I am adamant about everyone washing their hands. There is a full bottle of hand soap in every bathroom and kitchen. Wouldn’t you agree that having clean hands is a mustDial Complete Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash is the choice for me because it kills 99.99% of germs. The pump is easy to use and dispenses the perfect amount of soap. I love its light scent of Spring Water. Furthermore, it is formulated with antibacterial ingredients that kill disease-causing germs. Dial Complete is tough enough to do its job but also gentle enough on your hands. Washing our hands routinely keeps us healthyand the foaming action of Dial Complete feels so good on the hands.

‘Tis the season, isn’t it? Prevention is definitely the key – from washing hands to eating right – but these products can surely help us feel better if we do catch the crud. While I miss having little kids at home, I must admit that I catch way fewer colds now.

    Hi Debbie,

Thanks for sharing these products with us. I’m currently using Align and it’s help a lot. Not that I want to get sick or anything but I’m going to try VapoCool if I do, ;).

Have a great day and weekend.

I need to try the Vick’s cough drops. I have noticed that, since having my thyroid removed, winter is so rough on my throat. Regular cough drops haven’t been cutting it lately, but the cooling sensation sounds wonderful!

I swear by probiotics! Since I started taking them, I really feel like I’ve gotten sick less and my body feels better overall.

Wonderful suggestions! I haven’t tried the Vicks drops but I use almost every winter the Vicks Vaporub cream for cold and I love it. Love the scent also.

We just got home from holiday travel and the first thing I picked up was probiotics to help with my gut and get back to balanced after all the weird holiday food. I’ll have to check out Metamucil too and see if I should add it in
