Happy first day of February! I actually have been waiting for this day because I am so excited to share with you the beautiful images captured by Rafael the Painter. Last month’s photos were celebrating the start of a new year with the art of letting go, in case you missed it. Now, let’s talk about L O V E !!!
The photos for this series communicate LOVE so perfectly which is fitting for the month of February. This is part 4 of the blog series featuring the work of Rafael Guajardo, an astounding photographer and portrait artist from Orange County, CA.
Well, I could talk about this topic forever — six ways to love your husband! Why, because it is so interesting, satisfying and purposeful. You guys know how much I love my kids, right!?! I have this same love for my husband (well, actually it is different) but much more! It is hard to describe in words the love I feel for him. But, I know it is real for when I see him and love on him my heart grows deeper and bigger each time.
Love is an action verb. Just like a plant you need to nurture love in your marriage. Just like a muscle, you must act in love in your marriage for it to work properly.
As I was praying about this message and researching for it, I came across a beautifully and poignant written article from Marriage Missions International highlighting “100 Ways You Can Love Your Husband HIS Way.” This message touched me so much that I wanted to share with you six of my favorites and hope it inspires you too!
Six Ways to Love Your Husband
- Purposefully try to understand his feelings—even when you disagree with him.
- Try not to make sudden major changes without discussion, giving time to adjust.
- Don’t over commit yourself. Leave time for him.
- Express how much you appreciate him for working so hard to support the family.
- Talk in loving, not in nagging or belittling ways.
- Be his “help-mate” in whatever ways you sense he needs it.
I invite you to give this article a read. It is so GOOD! It was difficult for me to list just six as all 100 would add so much value and richness in your marriage if you were to implement. If you are reading this and are not married then you can also use the ideas on someone you love — and if you are not dating it definitely is thought provoking because these techniques to showing your husband love can also translate into nurturing relationships of other kinds.
Happy February my sweethearts! It is so fun to share this journey with you! I love to hear about your joys, successes and struggles. I love this blogging community and my tribe. Your love and support uplifts me! Always, remember that you must learn to love yourself first (flaws and all) to love another in return. You are GREAT in the sight of God!
For my Orange County readers — take advantage of Rafael Painter’s incredible Valentine’s Day Special! As you can see his work is extraordinary. He captures the ‘Soul of Love’ and it will be a cherished heirloom to last a lifetime if not more.
This is such a beautiful article. I like that you talk about sharing and loving your partner and understanding him. And I will remember point 4. When I come home tonight, I will tell my husband how much I appreciate everything he does.
Hi Miri! Thank you so much! Oh, you should read the article I linked to. It has such juicy information. With three kids sometimes my hubby is the last to receive love. This article reminded me to always place my MAN first! xo

Hope you can drop to my blog at KatrinaIsha
Thank you so much! We are so blessed to have such fantastic husbands! xo
This was a really insightful posts. I really love how you shared about understanding him. So many times I feel like women want their husbands to understand them, but they forget they may not be doing it in return. Men need love and respect and change does not come unless you are working for it.
Thank you for sharing!
