Why Plush Toys Are Important For Your Child’s Life

I love that my son Elijah still loves playing with stuffed animals! It doesn’t matter to me that this kind of play may seem “soft” for boys. With my son, I am always encouraging him to express himself through dialogue, art, music, and creative play. A couple of Christmas ago, I painstakingly handmade 2 little mermaids and 1 little merman dolls for my kids as holiday gifts. These handmade dolls are something that my three kids treasure! Elijah keeps his little merman on his bed along with his collection of stuffed animals. It makes me so happy to see him embrace the “softer side” of his personality.
First Friends
If we dig digger playing with stuffed animals means a lot more than meets the eye! There are many important benefits to kids playing with soft toys. Playing with stuffed animals allow kids to embrace their feelings and act them out in a fun and productive manner. These imaginary toys create an environment for development in the areas of language, compassion, and relating with others. Plush toys are often a child’s first friends. Toys that are soft to the touch allow kids to experience human nature in their creative world.
Soft Companions
Whether it be stuffed dolls, plush pets, or sequin-covered creatures — imaginary play with these soft toys teach important skills that are important for healthy child development. Cuddly toys that are soft provide the security and warmth that a little child needs. This is a beautiful thing!
P.S. Elijah loves his Shimmeez plush toys! These sequin covered little animals are just so CUTE! Plus, the stuffed toys have two cool features: a changing colorability and being two-toned in color. All it takes is a simple brush of your hand and a big hug!
