Thrifted Fashion: Vintage Dress – How I Made It My Own
I have caught the thrifting bug! I wore my first thrifted dress on the blog last fall and was surprised by the comments. I had no idea that many of you love to thrift shop? And, I am so happy about this! This elegant black-and-white vintage dress was purchased at the same estate sale I found my lovely blue Cinderella Dress! Love it. The fabrication of vintage apparel is top-notch. You can just tell that the garments were made with greater detail and attention. This dress is absolutely timeless and what was relevant then…is still relevant now. Don’t you agree?
One of my favorite styling tips is to — “belt it”. I found this chic statement belt with a gold buckle from Nordstrom Rack. I knew it would add elegance to this classic dress. My stylish YSL handbag elevates every outfit for me instantly. I wanted to add some flair to this look and decided to emphasize the shoe. I chose an animal print stiletto heels and incorporated – studded shoe strap accessories from Straplets. There is an effortless beauty in these looks that are created from incorporating new and old elements in an outfit. I love that this dress became my own through a few basic styling techniques that really make an impact. You can do that too with any thrifted piece.
I can’t wait for another thrift store shopping spree! Leave a comment below of your favorite thrifted find!
