Our family loves Dyson products. In fact, we love them so much we have two of their vacuums — Dyson V6 Motor Head Cord Free Vacuum and Dyson Ball Multifloor Canister Vacuum. We put these two vacuums to use on the daily! So, you can imagine my excitement when I received a personal invitation to receive a stylish blow out with Dyson’s newest family member, Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer at Neiman Marcus — Fashion Island Newport Beach, CA.
There has been so much hype about the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer probably because their vacuums are the best in the industry! So, naturally there would be a curiosity if their latest technology in hair care would be up to snuff. Plus, the hefty price tag of $399 is nothing to sneeze at. I am going to give you my honest opinion of Dyson’s latest hair care tool!
I have naturally curly hair that is thick, coarse and dense. It isn’t easy drying out my hair. It is tiresome and and tedious. I have so much hair that the amount of heat from a hair dryer to get it dry can also damage it, if I am not careful and only blow dry my hair occasionally. I make sure to use a good heat protectant and wait until my hair is at least 80% dry. It is a double-edge sword. As a busy mother of three, time is indeed a luxury. I love looking and feeling my best but need short cuts to get me there faster so I can go conquer the world.
During my blow dry session I was quite amazed how quickly and efficiently my hair was dried. It seemed effortless as my hair stylist moved about my hair. I am quite sensitive to the heat coming from hair dryers but with Dyson Supersonic — the heat from the hair dryer didn’t bother me at all. I was comfortable and facial skin was not burning from any intense heat. It didn’t take forever to get my hair dry. There are three precise speed settings: fast drying, regular drying, and styling.
Magnetic attachments are an unique and cool feature of the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer that make it extraordinary. There are three magnetic attachments to choose from: a nozzle, a styling concentrator, and diffuser. The nozzle allows you to dry and style at the same time with a wide mouth attachment. To style sections of hair at a time the styling concentrator is perfect for that. And, the diffuser distributes air around your hair and simulates natural drying to reduce frizz and enhance definition.
When I handled the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer I was surprised it was cool to the touch. It has been created with heat shield technology so the surface stays cool! This is great for mommies as I know kids love to hang around their moms when they are getting ready. Also, my girls are now at an age where they are excited to style their hair and I don’t have to worry about them hurting themselves.
I think the best thing about this hair dryer is the SHINE it gave my hair! Its design and technology prevents extreme heat damage to protect your natural shine. You can see in my photos the shine and sheen in my hair is amazing! My hair was so soft to the touch, smooth, manageable and glistening! I was able to wear my hair style for at least four days from my original blow out with Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer! I felt beautiful and if I don’t say so myself I looked beautiful too!
Outfit Details: Don’t you love my vintage sequined sweater? It was just $10 at my favorite thrift and vintage shop in Long Beach, CA called Assistance League Long Beach! You have to shop there and tell them I sent you!
Okay, the con(s)…well, obviously the price tag! It is $399….gulp. Well, all I can say is, it would be worth it. Do I have one personally, no. Do I want one yes! Just like my two other vacuums from Dyson — I saved money, received gift cards, was lucky enough to purchase during a rebate and took the plunge and bought. I am planning to do the same with this as I would love to have this a part of my beauty arsenal. Santa please remember I have been NICE all year! Let me know what your thoughts are. Do you own one yourself? Is this something you would purchase?
