Last Saturday, I went to Sephora to purchase Selena Gomez’s new makeup collection called Rare Beauty. I cannot wait to share with you each product and my first impressions. Stay tuned for the end of this post as well because I will share with you how you can enter to win a $100 gift certificate to Sephora so you can get your own Rare Beauty pieces! Yay!
Rare Beauty created names and shades that have been thoughtfully created to inspire you, always.
Always an Optimist Illuminating Primer is a lightweight, universal gel primer which with ultra fine pearls for a lit-from-within glow. This is the perfect lightweight primer. It applies very well, evenly and smoothly. You just need one to two pumps. It has ultra fine pearls to reflect light and it feels so good on your skin.
Liquid Touch Multi-Tasking Sponge. A plush sponge with a diamond-shape tip for a precise application and customizable coverage.
Liquid Touch Foundation Brush. A cruelty-free foundation brush packed with soft, silky bristles that build, blend, and buff. I would have to say that after using both the sponge and her foundation brush, I am pro foundation brush. I love the way it picks up the product.
Liquid Touch Concealer Brush. A cruelty-free concealer brush with uniquely sculpted bristles and a pointed tip for precise coverage.
Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer. A moisturizing buildable concealer that melt seamlessly into skin for undetectable cake-free coverage. I am definitely keeping this brush. I love the uniquely sculpted bristles that helps for precise coverage. I really needed the concealer 240 warm shade and I am using the 230 neutral because it was available at Sephora.
Brow Harmony Pencil & Gel. A dual-ended waterproof pencil and tinted brow gel with a precision brush to sculpt and set the brow. It comes in eight amazing colors.
I chose the color deep crown, and I’m really glad I decided on it because it was a perfect match. The brow formulation is nice and creamy and pigmented just perfectly. The tinted gel holds all of your brow hairs in place. It’s a great set and hold. However, if you are looking for a brow pencil with more precision, a more precision tip, this one, isn’t the right one.
Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner. An intense waterproof liner that delivers bold, even strokes with a calligraphy-style style brush. I want to share a few tips on how to use this amazing pen, make sure to shake it, to activate the color pigment with the pointed tip along the lash line to intensify definition. This brush tip can be used to create thin or thick lines. If you want thin lines apply light pressure, and then add more pressure to create thick lines.
Soft Pinch Matte Liquid Blush. A long-lasting liquid blush that blends and builds beautifully for a soft, healthy flush. The Sephora associate was raving about this blush and I was really excited to try it. She did give me a warning that a little goes a long way, and that was hard to believe, but I took her advice. I just dabbed one little dot on my cheek. And as you can see, the color payout is just incredible. I love the dewy finish and the color choices are just amazing. You have four dewy colors and four matte colors to choose from. This liquid blush is light-weight and long lasting. It really provides that healthy flush.
Positive Light Liquid Luminizer. A silky, second-skin liquid highlighter that creates a lasting, lit-from-within glow.
Apply one or two dots wherever you want to add that touch of glow. Don’t forget those high points of your face, such as your cheek, brow bone and bridge of your nose. This liquid lighter has the prettiest luminous finish. It just looks so pretty because of the light reflection and pearl particles that are built into the formulation.
With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm. A hydrating fuss-free lip balm that adds a hint of just kissed color and soft shine. It glides on your lips so softly. It’s very nourishing and then the color payout is just amazing. I want all the colors. It is hydrating fuss-free lip balm. It adds a hint of subtle color and soft shine.
Lip Souffle Matte Lip Cream. A whipped lip cream that delivers comfortable, one stroke color with a vivid, velvety finish. It is available in 22 colors and very hydrating. Glides on for full-on color and a featherweight feel that stays comfortable all day with no drying or caking. Made with a botanical blend of lotus, gardenia, and white waterlily, plus Vitamin E, it nourishes while smoothing out lips with a soft blurring effect.
I am so excited about this launch and I am pleased that Selena is putting an emphasis and a bright light on mental health. This last year has been difficult. I lost my little brother last November and am dealing with depression, anxiety, and sadness. So, her passion for mental health really hits home and it is amazing to me that she’s created a beauty line that emphasizes mental health care, positivity and self awareness. So thank you, Selena!
