Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Handbags
One of the fun things about my job is getting dressed up and playing make-believe for my style posts. I love to think of unique looks to inspire you to express yourself in fashion. Honestly, these mini-play sessions give me the opportunity to be creative and carefree. I love it! I tend to overthink things and it gets annoying! So, when it comes to fashion, I pick items that make me happy without little thought and it feels so liberating!
There is nothing more whimsical and dreamy than wearing a tulle skirt. And, I love the fact that mine is black giving it some edge…. a grown-up version of a tutu! My “babe” shirt (love this one too) was so fun to wear as it made me feel 21 again. LOL! Now, it belongs to my tween and looks even better on her! So, if you are ever feeling bored or uninspired put on a tulle skirt and dance. It will change your energy dramatically!
Handbag Lover
This whole outfit was selected to highlight my new baby, Saint Laurent Medium College Shoulder Bag! I have been eyeing this bag for a long time. Handbags are one of my favorite accessories to complete a look. The structured look of the Saint Laurent medium college shoulder bag is chic and minimalistic. The top handle makes it easy to carry. The gorgeous gold oversized curb chain allows you to use it as a crossbody. I love to touch its rich lambskin leather which features exquisite matelassé stitching. It is going to be so fun to sport this baby in all my style posts.
It was definitely an investment piece worth making for me. I also understand this choice may not be for everyone. There are some items in my wardrobe (like handbags) that I am choosing to save for rather than have several low-end pieces. I have found these items to be timeless. Also, these iconic purses usually hold up better in the long run because the materials and construction are of a premium quality.
Insider Tip
Here is a tip! You don’t need to drop several Benjamins to get a GOOD handbag! I have found spending just $200 – $400 on a handbag and even as low as $100 (search for those deals and stick to well-known brands) will serve you well. BTW, I am here to help you scour for those steals, so please stick with me. Bags less than this price range tend to show its age sooner and basically fall apart. Boo! But, I am pretty rough on my bags as they serve so many purposes for me.
