LipSense | The Best Kiss Proof Lipstick for Valentine’s Day
For those of you who don’t know what LipSense is – it is a lip color that is used with a gloss to give you a long lasting lip color for up to 18 hours! This means when applied properly you can eat, drink, kiss to your heart’s content without the fear of it wearing off. It is also waterproof which means it can handle intense moisture or wet activities such as swimming and a good sweat sesh at the gym!
As a busy mom and entrepreneur who takes pride in the way I look and present myself to others, it is important to find a lipstick that has long lasting power. I don’t have the time to bother over my make up to reapply every time I kiss my husband, three children, and my cute puppy & when I eat and drink! LipSense has changed my life because I can look put together with a bright or neutral lip throughout the day with no extra fuss.
How LipSense Works
To start off with using LipSense you will purchase a LipSense Kit for $55. This includes the color lipstick, lip gloss, and Oops Remover. LipSense lip colors come in a vast variety of beautiful colors. The lip gloss is used after the lip color application to seal in the color and provide deep hydration. Your lips will look plump and luscious from the gloss. The Oops Remover (oil-based) has been formulated to remove the long lasting lip color when you have made a mistake or to remove at night.
After purchasing your initial LipSense Kit you can purchase additional lip colors for $25 which is equal to one high end lipstick. However, one LipSense lipstick will outlast four traditional lipsticks. See, the benefit and value in this? Additional lip glosses are $20. Some ladies like to have an extra one in the car, office, or purse. And, for $10 you can buy another Oops Remover. Please, know that the gloss and Oops Remover will last a very long time too.
How To Apply LipSense
Step 1: Grab your favorite lip color. You will apply in three smooth and even layers. Swipe the lip color across your lips starting slow around the edges first. Do the top lip and then the bottom lip. In between layers pause for 5 seconds or so with your mouth open to dry. Begin the second layer with the same process and wait for 5 seconds for it to dry and complete with the third and final layer. Make sure to cover your entire lip.
If you made any mistakes this is the time to use your Oops Remover to remove any excess lip color outside of your desired area.
Step 2: Now it is time for gloss! Apply the gloss directly over your lips to bond the lip color. It also offers amazing protection to your lips and keeps it well hydrated. After eating and drinking or major kiss sessions make sure to reapply the gloss to keep the bond intact and your lips hydrated. It is that easy!
CONS: For some this may be considered as a con but for me the PROS definitely outweigh the seemingly small inconvenience. 1) A little learning curve in applying the lipsticks due to the three layering process. 2) Some may say that it feels a bit thick — necessary for all long lasting lip colors. 3) Slight cool and tingly sensation from the lip color. I actually love the feeling as it guides me in smoothly layering the lip color.
