[/shop]Yesterday, I talked about how your face plays an important role in first impressions. Today, I am excited to share how making that first impression with your front entryway ups your curb appeal. Your guests always notice your front entrance, so make it count! Our front entrance needed some major sprucing up! So, when MacKenzie-Childs reached out to me, I was definitely on board. To be quite honest, I was unfamiliar with this all American home decor and furnishing brand.
But, as I began researching its roots I found out that they embrace the concept of community (which I love), propelling them to create a loyal fan base that is still going strong today! In 1983, MacKenzie-Childs started out with their signature ceramics. And, now four decades later they have expanded their repertoire in crafting the most whimsical, colorful, well-crafted beautifully designed tabletop and furniture pieces, home decor and accessories.
Albert and I purchased this lovely fixer-upper in Laguna Niguel, CA three years ago. We picked this spot for so many reasons such as the nearby regional park and lake, great schools, convenient access to freeways and toll roads, its family friendly atmosphere and the short distance to many of the beaches of Orange County. There is very little to complain about. But,……
Our home addition finally was complete last fall where we added an additional 1100 square of living space adjoining our detached garage to our main home by adding a second story addition. Our family is enjoying the my new office, laundry room, staircase, bonus room, wet bar, two bedrooms and bathroom!
However, this came at an expense! This challenging journey was exhausting, expensive, time-consuming and incredibly draining. Home construction is not for the faint of heart. We had a lot of ups and downs even involving the police but this again is a story for another time!
It was an answer to prayer when MacKenzie-Childs came to our rescue. Albert and I were obviously burned out. But, I was still embarrassed of the shamefully dull front entryway of our home. When guests arrive I was well aware of the impression or the lack thereof it was making! I wanted a front entryway makeover that reflected our style, energy, and personality!

[/shop]And, boy did MacKenzie-Childs deliver! Look at this fun and whimsical outdoor decor piece called The Architect’s Centerpiece (large)! I am hooked on their famous Courtly Check design which is hand-painted by their skilled artisans in Aurora, New York. It’s so amazing that the boxwoods used are actually real and preserved perfectly for enjoyment throughout the years.

[/shop]Check out the Harlequin Pot from MacKenzie-Childs. Isn’t the pattern so fun!?! It sure makes a statement. Even though this looks like real terra cotta it isn’t. It has been made from resins which provides makes it family friendly for my little bunches of Savages!
This gorgeous and luxurious flower planter had me at hello the first time I laid my eyes it! The copper, aluminum, and brass details are statement worthy. It is the perfect size to display your favorite flowers of choice and I got two to flank my front entry doors. It makes quite the regal impression! Just in love with this Flower Basket Planter.

[/shop]I am so honored at the opportunity of partnering up with such an iconic American brand! Discovering the high quality craftsmanship of each MacKenzie-Childs’s piece ensures that I am able to pass down each item to my children in years to come. My kids will look back at the memories we created during their childhood enjoying our home, our community, walking the dog, eating treats, and taking our annual family photo on the porch.
MacKenzie-Childs is more than just a company. It is a lifestyle brand that truly makes a mark in your heart! I have to say our newly designed front entryway has given us the motivation to continue the second phase of our home construction. Tackling the main house (over 2800 square feet) – will be no easy feat! We want MacKenzie-Childs to be with us every step of the way!
Thank you so much for stopping by and I can’t wait to read your comments about our front entry makeover with MacKenzie-Childs! I definitely have major street cred now! What is your favorite piece?
