I have a confession to make to all of you. You might have already guessed it — I am addicted to jewelry! My jewelry obsession stems from my childhood where my mother would adorn me with beautiful gemstone jewelry from Cambodia to wear at our traditional Cambodian ceremonies.
Gem for Joy
It may sound like I am bragging, but this was my reality. I didn’t the appreciate the beauty of rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds drenched in 24 k gold when I was younger. But, now as an adult I have come to cherish all kinds of jewelry (especially vintage pieces) and understand that it is both priceless in value and memories.
Some of this priceless jewelry is the stunning collection available at Gem for Joy. Sandra Hatem, the creator of Gem for Joy established her business in 2013 to live out her dream of owning her own business. It also served as her therapeutic release from a long day of work as a full-time mother (I totally get that)! Previously Sandra had a career in marketing for a major television network headquartered in New York City. She is quite a remarkable woman!
CURATED COLLECTIONS
When Sandra asked me to partner with Gem for Joy, you can image my excitement! I can’t tell you how hard it was to decide which of her collections to highlight, so I am going to highlight everything! Her shop is always changing with beautiful offerings from her “midnight creations” which are jewelry pieces that are handcrafted by her and made with Swarovksi crystals and radiant gemstones and gold. She also finds vintage pieces that are unique and vintage Southwest jewels that are so handsome!
I love Southwest jewelry because my step-dad who I affectionately call dad is a Native American shaman. I have so much love and respect for this man! My connection to the American Indian people and culture is strong and deep. You can see why I chose to highlight her unique vintage pieces from the Southwest. I love love love turquoise! Each piece she has curated is beautifully handcrafted with the most ornate designs and adorned with stones that are authentic and attractive.
