You know what makes life better? Pizza! Believe it or not, I did not grow up eating pizza. I know it was a sad existence. Thanks to being Asian, I got my fill of white rice daily and then some! But, since marrying a Caucasian man, who by the way loves PIZZA (and eats it like there is no tomorrow) — I have become quite the authority of pizza cuisine!
My family and I were so excited when Angelina’s Pizzeria in Irvine, CA invited us to be their special guests! The hubs and kids were counting down the days. I can’t wait to tell you about our dining experience at the best authentic pizza restaurant you will find around town.

Meet the DAVOLIA!!! (Choice of mild or spicy salame) Napoletana-style salame, Mozzarella di Bufala, San Marzano DOP pomodoro sauce and fresh basil (pepperoncini oil on spicy). We opted for the spicy salame and it was delish!

Don’t forget your greens! I love their CESARE INSALATE: Romaine hearts, homemade croutons, anchovy lemon dressing and shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano.
They also cater for private parties by using a special mobile woodfire oven to create their amazing pizzas onsite for corporate events, private parties, weddings, receptions, and more.
This was a heavenly Italian experience for me! I have never been to Italy before, but from dining here I can now say that I have. I was told by our waitress they import their San Marzano tomatoes and premium ingredients all the way from Italy to ensure the taste is authentic to recipes that were created in Tuscany.
The wood-fire pizzas were so delicious! They are carefully cooked in Angelina’s 900 degree wood-fire ovens. The dough is hand stretched and kneaded every morning and handcrafted with locally sourced produce and topped with mozzarella from a cheesemonger in Napoli. Isn’t this fabulous!?! The taste is unreal!
There are so many unique dishes here to experience. Their recipes are traditional in honoring family recipes that originated from the soul of Italy’s best ingredients and local produce. However, what sets Angelina’s apart is that they perfectly blend New World techniques into their pizza that creates an experience that is unparalleled and authentic.
