It wasn’t because I didn’t care about about myself. But, rather I thought that by placing another needs before my own was the right thing to do. Overtime, I was left exhausted, unmotivated, and skeptical about myself and my needs. Okay, out with the old and in with the new! It is not too late to set up those fun New Year Resolutions, January ain’t over yet. Today, I am partnering with my friends from GLISS® Hair Repair™ to share 3 Tips for Feeling Confident in the New Year! #1  You are what you eat. Everything you put into your body becomes a part of you. Eating is more than just satisfying a hunger.  It is about fueling your body and brain with quality foods to repair and nourish your body systems. Your inner being as well as your outer fabric (skin, hair, and nails) reflect what you are ingesting. Choose foods that are living. My goal is to make more meals at home with my family for my family. I know when I eat better and drink more water my body feels strong and energetic.  I feel and look more confident.

#2  Move it or lose it. My mother instilled in me the love of exercise as a teen. She would drag me to the gym as her exercise buddy and there was times I hated it. It was good to learn at a young age to push my body and understand the strength, agility, and beauty my body contains. The phases in my life when I failed to reserve this important activity, I felt sluggish, uninspired, and depressed.  My body really thrives on daily exercise, be it big or small. Make it a habit 3 to 5 times a week to incorporate at least 20 – 30 minutes of exercise. Keep this habit all the days of your life, adjusting to your current lifestyle situation. But, the key word here is habit.

#3 Repair your hair. Good hair care is important for beautiful healthy hair. A sound hair care routine is not something you should ignore. For those mamas out there who think, I don’t have time to style my hair and don’t often use hot hair appliances and/or a hair dryer so this doesn’t apply to me…please listen up. Hair gets damaged and you may not know it. Our hair goes through a lot of stress. Combing and brushing your hair creates mechanical stress. Sunlight, salt, and chlorine water create environmental stress on your hair.
