I remember the velvet trend as a teenager.  My velvet leggings and tunic shirts were on repeat as a teen.  One particular velvet outfit I remember quite well is a green one — a hideous green one!  I looked like a jolly olde elf when wearing it!  I can’t believe I wore it, maybe my mom forced me (I don’t remember)!?!  It was a hooded velvet tunic with matching leggings!  Don’t you love recalling your fashion faux pas?  I should of kept it because it would of topped any Ugly Christmas Sweater Outfit!

The velvet trend came full circle this season with velvet dresses, pants, tops, jackets, chokers and even OTK boots! Isn’t this great?  I don’t want this velvet trend to end!  When I saw this velvet dress on Amazon I knew I wanted to give this trend a try again.  The cowl neck is flattering on your neckline and the midi length is perfect to show some legs.  I paired it with my favorite H&M moto jacket for an edgy appeal.  The gorgeous turquoise necklace is my mother’s and it is absolutely beautiful!  And, I wore my favorite cage heel black pumps from Missguided.

Tell me and be honest, how many velvet fashion pieces do you own?

  1. You look so pretty in any color! I love velvet and I agree, there were times I remember wearing it back when I was 15, 16, 18 and sometimes it could look beautiful and other times I looked like a cartoon. When I was pregnant I had a favorite pair of velvet black pants for winter that I was obsessed with because it was the only pants I didn’t have to zipper and they always looked chic, haha.

Although the velvet trend continues to come and go I think it’s pretty classic especially for the holidays. You’ve done a great job of combining a stunning solid print and combining with modern jacket to make this look ultra chic and sleek.
